Help the Refugees of Iraq and Syria
Please "add a note" that your donation is for the Miracle Mission.
Dear Friends and Partners,
As many of you know for the past several years, Destiny Encounters has been setting aside the month of January as a special time for travel into the Middle East to preach the Gospel. Over the years we have seen God perform so many amazing miracles among His people. Some stories we have told, others because of there sensitivity, will never be spoken of. Yet Heaven knows.
The nature of our ministry has always focused on releasing the prophetic destiny of people and nations. So our decisions on which nations we travel to and the strategic blueprints on how we reach them, relies heavily upon prayer and intercession. Being led by the Spirit has always been our number one priority. Our trip was set for this coming year to the Middle East and had been for several months when God began to speak to us in England.
Charlie has always been an intercessor and as our UK tour began to wind down his focus began to shift to the tragedy that has been taking place in Iraq and Syria. He would pray night after night for the people; often not sleeping until 4 or 5 in the morning. We saw what was taking place and our hearts broke. Charlie would pray, prophesy, decree the destiny of the word of the Lord over the land, it seemed to consume him for weeks. He felt like he had been spending time during prayer in the war torn areas with the refugees, visions came that seemed to speak of things to come.
Upon our return to the United States, after a three month adventure in the United Kingdom while sitting at the gate to board our last flight home to Nashville, Charlie leaned over to me and said, "Honey God wants us to help the refugees. This human tragedy demands a heavenly response!" This is when I knew our plans for the Middle East were about to change, there had been a Macedonian Call.
"And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them." (Acts 16:9-10)
We immediately began to seek God on a way to fulfill what He was speaking for us to do. As a result the Lord has opened an amazing opportunity for us to travel into the nation of Jordan and minister in a city close to the boarder of Syria. The church that will be hosting us is currently feeding 700 refugee families and God is using them in a mighty way to reach out to those who have been displaced through the horrific brutality of Isis. The magnitude of this tragedy that is sweeping across Iraq and Syria can be overwhelming to the point that so many refugees feel hopeless and lost. This is where Destiny Encounters has an opportunity to step up. You and I must answer the call to help those who are in desperate need at this time. We are asking all of our partners and friends, those of you who connect with us through social media on our Prayer Shield, to prayerfully consider sowing a generous love gift to help the refugees living in tents and makeshift shelters on the Syrian/Jordan border.
Charlie along with one of our assistants will be making the journey to help. We will minister in the church while we are in Jordan, but our main objective is to physically meet as many needs as possible. We need to gather as much financial support as possible to make a large impact. The needs are vast and no offering is too small. We know that so many of you are amazing givers and that is why we are writing this letter because we know you will answer the call and give your best.
One of the most powerful scriptures on giving is found in the the book of Proverbs. It is a promise that God will repay those who help the poor. "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed." (Proverbs 19:17) This is a direct promise that God will direct himself to personally repay you for helping those who could not otherwise help themselves. We feel that there will be great blessings poured out upon those who help give towards this tragedy at this time.
We thank you so much for your continued support through prayers and finances and know that together we can impact nations. Let's start the new year of 2017 with great compassion and meeting the needs of the poor.
